At the heart of “Das Damische Aderl”, presented by Kunstbühel+ in Kitzbühel in summer 2026, is a dynamic dialogue between the work of Gunter Damisch, his former students, and three contrasting contemporary positions. Stefan Rinck plays a particularly prominent role, with sculptures from his Alpen-Clan series specially brought from the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, as well as his monumental Thron, which functions simultaneously as a sculpture, stage, social space, and invitation to participate. His work introduces humour, physical presence, and questions of authority and belonging into an exhibition that brings together visual art, performance, literature, and music. Alongside Rinck, Michèle Pagel and Markus Orsini-Rosenberg expand the exhibition beyond the notion of a closed artistic school, creating an open and polyphonic space for encounter, exchange, and new forms of resonance.
