Marmott is the title of French artist Laurent Le Deunff's first solo exhibition in Rome.

The visual artist, who is in residence and exhibiting at pianobi, has created a site-specific work, namely a fountain depicting a marmot spouting water: a symbolic act between pagan and Christian rituals preserved for centuries by the Eternal City. To create a dialogue within the space, the work is complemented by a large charcoal mural depicting clouds, which, clement and inexorable, mark the passage of time and metamorphosis, thus establishing a visual and conceptual echo with the perpetual movement of the fountain's water.

The exhibition is part of the Ri-sorgente project curated by Isabella Vitale, founder of pianobi, and takes place within the framework of ‘Il Racconto dell'Acqua’ (The Story of Water) conceived and curated by Adriana Polveroni, in collaboration with the Ciel'in Città association, winner of the Artes et Iubilaeum competition promoted by the Department of Culture of Roma Capitale.
