With an exhibition by the artist duo Gert & Uwe Tobias, the Kunstforum Ostdeutsche Galerie in Regensburg presents contemporary art at its finest. The winners of the 2026 Lovis Corinth Prize captivate visitors with their striking aesthetic. Their large-format canvases, collages, drawings and sculptures transport viewers into a colourful, inspiring world of fantasy. The exhibition, co-curated by the two artists, will be on display at the KOG from 9 May 2026. A particular highlight is the specially designed museum foyer.

Through their art, Gert and Uwe Tobias create a distinctive, multi-layered visual universe full of enigmatic figures and surreal forms. The familiar and the unexpected converge here, sparking the imagination. The artists draw inspiration for their motifs from the wealth of images and forms in art history, as well as, time and again, from the folk art and myths of their Transylvanian homeland.
