Located at the heart of the Rentilly – Michel Chartier Cultural Park, the château, home to the intermunicipal museum, blends seamlessly into its surroundings. Its mirrored façade almost disappears, giving pride of place to the trees reflected across its surface. At the centre of the museum, the exhibition Beautiful Trees (Beaux-Arbres) celebrates them, reflecting and welcoming them into the galleries. Here, the museum's collections—particularly its Neo-Impressionist works by the Lagny Group and late nineteenth-century landscape paintings—enter into dialogue with contemporary artworks that explore the complex and often contradictory relationships we maintain with trees today, at times peaceful, at times unsettling, ultimately inviting us to reconsider our relationship with the natural world.
Exhibition conceived and organised by the Château de Rentilly – Intermunicipal Museum.
