Located in the heart of the Rentilly – Michel Chartier Cultural Park, the château, which houses the intercommunal museum, blends seamlessly into its surroundings. It recedes into the landscape, giving pride of place to the trees reflected in its mirrored façade. At the heart of the museum, the Beaux-Arbres exhibition gives them a central role, reflecting them and welcoming them into the space. Here, the museum’s collections, notably focused on the Neo-Impressionist works of the Lagny Group and on late nineteenth-century landscape painting, enter into dialogue with contemporary works that explore the contradictory relationships—at times peaceful, at times uneasy—that we maintain with trees today, prompting us to question our relationship with the world.
