The result of an unprecedented collaboration between lille3000 and the Platform network, this exhibition celebrates 40 years of passion and cultural decentralization. This historic gathering highlights the richness of the French art scene — from emerging talents to established artists — in dialogue with international creators. Taking over all three floors of the Tripostal (5,000 m²), the 22 Frac collections reveal their wealth and diversity through the lenses of irony, satire, appropriation and fantasy.

Far removed from the image of art as elitist or austere, Éclats du rire! offers an exhilarating journey in which laughter becomes a tool for reflection. From wordplay to acts of appropriation, the selected works joyfully challenge our assumptions. Ranging from light-hearted humor to biting sarcasm, from the absurd to the satirical, the exhibition invites visitors to become active participants in their own experience through emotion and wit.

Curated by Caroline David, the exhibition has been conceived as a generous and accessible experience. It is intended for audiences of all generations, demonstrating that contemporary art can be both profound and irresistibly funny.
