The Musée Ingres Bourdelle is hosting, until May 2027, a visual and sound installation by artist Françoise Pétrovitch in collaboration with video artist Hervé Plumet. Entitled Mémoires vives (Living Memories), the installation was specially conceived to respond to the unique atmosphere of the Black Prince Hall.

Like quotations, Françoise Pétrovitch’s drawings, directly inspired by Ingres’ work, are projected throughout the medieval hall. The resulting interplay of light helps reveal the artist’s chromatic palette, composed of delicate nuances as well as vivid, striking tones. Visitors are invited to enter a strange universe where large hybrid and anthropomorphic creatures appear and disappear, returning to their floating world born from the artist’s imagination.

On the museum’s second floor, in Ingres’ Drawing Cabinet, several remarkable works on paper by the artist are on display. Integrated into some of the drawers usually dedicated to Ingres’ drawings, these works highlight the profound connection between Françoise Pétrovitch, the practice of drawing, and the master of Montauban.
